Travel Plans!
I'm just so excited, I have to share...
Oct 16-19: Hobart, Tasmania Oct 19-22: Melbourne, Australia Oct 25-Nov 1: New Zealand! Auckland, etc... Nov 2-6: The Outback! Alice Springs & Ayers Rock/Uluru, Australia Nov 8: Home
I know you are very sensible and you did keep yourself very safe in Africa but the outback trip is worrying me. Up until the 1940's Australians were called British and as part of our empire we learned all about the country. You could if you were completely out of your mind walk 1,400 miles of Queensland without once crossing a paved surface! Travel any distance into the interior and you are in an empty country. The outback does have dirt tracks but rental cars aren't allowed on them and even in a fully equipped offroad vehicle it's foolish to venture out on your own because it's so easy to get lost or stranded. By November Australia will be well into thier summer and tempratures reach up to 140 degreesF in the outback. For me an English woman it's not possible to understand how punishing such heat is.With a good supply of water you would last less than two days. In short I'm advising you to go with someone, seek advice from an expert and follow all the safety rules. That's cos I luv ya! and I want to see you again.
Thanks, Flo! I PROMISE I'll be very safe! I'm flying in and out of Alice Springs - not driving. And I'm planning on taking a bus - with lots of other people and run by professionals - to Ayers Rock/Uluru. So I won't be driving at all. I have consulted a very good guidebook - Lonely Planet books are great! I've used them in almost all my travels, and they are even based out of Australia - so they are definitely "in the know" concerning The Outback. I've also consulted several Australians, who I have met here, who have been there before. I will drink lots of water, avoid deadly spiders and snakes, and not wander off into The Outback by myself. Thanks for watching out for me! I love you too! xoxo
I seriously want to plan another trip with you. Not that we PLANNED our last trip TOGETHER... just think of what a trip planned would be though? Really. Let's do it....

Good luck with your marathon weekend. I'm sure you will feel like you had run a marathon by the time Chris and Gretel get home
